Chateauguay, Quebec,
The production of the Door systems will begin in 2012 and will last up to four years. The first phase of the project is for the delivery of 2808 Passenger Door Access Systems with the possibility of several thousand more doors system at a later phase should the options be exercised by the STM.
The relationship between Faiveley Transport SA and CMP started in 2008 when CMP was chosen as subcontractor on the AMT new double deck train car. Today, Faiveley Transport SA has again chosen CMP as subcontractor and partner for the Canadian content, and Faiveley Canada has located its offices at 1241 Cascades, Châteauguay Québec, in the same building owned by CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions.
This project will result in the creation of high quality employment in the form of Engineering and Project Management staff as well as the addition of skilled production personnel.
The Door Systems will be assembled and tested in CMP’s Châteauguay facility and will result in the purchasing of several million dollars of sub components sourced from local Québec based suppliers. Furthermore, CMP will handle after sales service and manage spare parts.
Steve Zimmermann, President and CEO of CMP said: We are extremely pleased to have been chosen by Faiveley Transport SA, this is the result of excellent collaboration and months of hard work by the entire CMP team. This, once again, demonstrates our ability to create innovative competitive solutions in the North American market place.
