Chateauguay,Quebec – Its walls brightly painted and furniture settled in, the
Product Design Center at CMP’s Quebec manufacturing facility is
scheduled to be up and running at full speed in just days. The new
center boasts an open concept environment designed to inspire
creativity and facilitate teamwork. It replaces the Ottawa Design
Center which was relocated September 30th, 2009.
“It
made sense to relocate the Product Design Center to our Quebec
manufacturing facility so that design and manufacturing teams could
work together side-by-side, literally,” said John Soares, VP Business
and Product Development at CMP.
The latest addition to
the Quebec facility is in line with CMP’s strategy of increasing
operational efficiency by leveraging the synergy of both product design
and manufacturing groups. CMP is not only a market leader in
manufacturing electro-mechanical enclosures but often provides a full
range of value-added product design services from conceptual design to
design for manufacturability. The relocation allows CMP’s teams to
work more effectively and efficiently to better serve customers as an
advanced mechanical solutions provider.
To ensure
continued support of regional customers in the Ottawa area, a satellite
design office has also been opened in Gatineau, Quebec, just across the
river from Ottawa.
CMP’s Quebec center of excellence houses and
showcases all areas of CMP talent including: Manufacturing, Assembly,
Integration, Engineering, and Product Design. CMP’s breadth of
capabilities also includes an 80,000 sq.ft high precision machining
center in the state of New York that boasts one of the biggest machines
in North America. |
